AL HARRINGTON is a 16-year NBA Veteran, Former 1st Round Draft Pick, Founder/CEO of Viola Brands, The Harrington Institute. A native of Orange, NJ, Al played high school basketball at St. Patrick High School and was named both Gatorade and USA Today’s National Player of the Year. At the age of 18 years old, drafted in the First Round of the 1998 NBA draft to the Indiana Pacers. A 16-year NBA career included the Pacers, Atlanta Hawks, Golden State Warriors, NY Knicks, Denver Nuggets, Orlando Magic and Washington Wizards. Today, Al is the CEO and Co-Founder of Viola, the premium Blackowned, multi-national cannabis company. With the mission to provide opportunities and ownership for the Black community at the heart of the brand, Al uses his platform to advocate for a more equitable cannabis industry. He is a respected authority and a key advisor to those shaping cannabis legislation on both local and national levels. As of early 2022, Harrington has since expanded Viola into four states and Canada from seed to sell, becoming the largest Black-owned multinational cannabis brand. Harrington also co-founded Village, and Re+Play and is an avid investor and advisor to Foria and Gold Standard Farms.
