MSD Partners, L.P., an SEC-registered investment adviser, was formed in 2009 by the partners of MSD Capital, L.P. Established in 1998, MSD Capital exclusively manages the assets of Michael S. Dell and his family. MSD Partners utilizes a multi-disciplinary investment strategy focused on maximizing long-term capital appreciation by making investments across the globe in the debt and equity of public and private companies, real estate and other asset classes. Michael Dell and his family are substantial clients of MSD Partners. MSD Partners operates from offices in New York and Santa Monica.
Mr. Segal is a Managing Director of MSD Partners, where he leads investments in both liquid and illiquid credit markets across a wide range of sectors. He joined MSD in 2006 from the Boston Consulting Group. Prior to the Boston Consulting Group, Mr. Segal invested in late stage venture capital at HarbourVest Partners, and was a member of the Telecom investment banking team at Salomon Brothers. Mr. Segal received his B.A. from Queen’s University (Canada) with Honors, in 1997, and his M.B.A. with Honors from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, in 2003.
Mr. Kollander is the co-portfolio manager of the MSD Real Estate Credit Opportunity Funds and a Managing Director of MSD Partners. Jason originally joined MSD in 2011 and has been a member of the Credit Opportunity Group since 2014, focusing on real estate special situation and credit investing. Previously, Jason was a corporate associate with Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP, focusing on structured finance, capital markets and M&A transactions. Jason began his career at Morgan Stanley & Co. with the credit team prior to attending law school. Jason received a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, an MSc from the London School of Economics and a B.A. from Yeshiva University.
